Always live with a greater purpose
Rodrigo and Erika are a young adventurous couple. Rodrigo has recently finished his contract with the US Army and has taken time off from employment to explore the world and himself. Erika is a Zoology graduate and cycling tourist with a passion for wildlife and environmental conservation.
The two have been apart from one another for the last 3 years and have been looking forward to traveling together since they met. Rodrigo would like to become an Engineer one day thanks to the Post 9/11 GI Bill but needs 9 months to re a quaint himself with his homeland of Uruguay and to have some adventures.
Rodrigo was born in Montevideo, Uruguay and immigrated to the US in 2001. Erika was born in Bogota, Colombia and immigrated to the US in 1988. The two speak fluent Spanish and enjoy finding their culture by returning to their home countries and living as locals.
The pair travel with a mentality of cultural relativism: the principle that people should not judge the behavior of others using the standards of their own culture, and that each culture must be analyzed on its own terms.
The couple aims to travel for the purpose of adventure, to serve others that need help along the way and to obtain wisdom from experiencing other cultures and places.
Erika enjoys science, animals, salsa dancing, meeting strangers, photography, capoeira, cooking, and eating.
