  I started out with an adventurous heart; a previous career as a scuba diving instructor took me to Barbados & Israel (and not just Birmingham and Devon!) and I was also lucky enough as a child to have parents who thought travel was important and took us to great places for holidays.

  Responsibilities and grown-up jobs have a way of changing you, but discovering the joys of having a VW camper (going on holiday at a moment's notice with your life in the van) and surfing have re-awakenned my desire for travel and now my son is 18, the house is oh so quiet....

  This trip is a once in a lifetime; I want to do something to give something back (volunteering in South Africa) but also re-capture the spontaneous and laid-back Ali that existed in my 20s...I know she is still there somewhere and i'm going to have fun finding her again!
