There's only so much you can learn in one place
Tried the rat race - didn't like it. Spent 4 years travelling around the world - liked it. Now trying to find something to combine the money-earning aspect of the former with the satisfaction aspect of the latter - not yet found it.
After finishing my RTW, I wrote a book about my dissatisfaction with my career, my reasons for quitting my job, life as a first-time thirtysomething backpacker, and finally the lessons learned from being exposed to experiences and people that I would never have encountered if I'd stayed in my office. The book is called "Out Of Office Male" and is available as an eBook at Amazon and other outlets.
I didn't know about Travellerspoint until I came back from my RTW - my blog from that trip is therefore elsewhere at http://www.travelblog.org/Bloggers/Jabe/. I am using Travellerspoint to blog my trips since I came home.
