This morning we took the hotel shuttle to the airport and another shuttle to car rentals where we picked up our car to begin our drive to Le Marche and our farmhouse rental, Ca' Stefioli.. We were on the road by about 10:15am, made several stops along the way, and arrived at our farmhouse rental at about 4pm. I have to start my photos for this blog with our first view from the rental farmhouse!

On our way through the mountains, we had multiple short but intense downpours but for the most part, reasonably good weather. I didn't get a picture of the sign marking leaving Umbria and entering Marche, but I did get a photo of one of the first Fano road signs!

When we arrived at Ca' Stefioli, the sun was in full shine and we were stunned by the views from our rental. Here are a few photos upon our arrival!

(Okay, the 2nd photo is from VRBO with the wisteria in full bloom -- it's not blooming here yet or perhaps it has already passed but the views remain breathtaking nonetheless!)

Needless to say, we are delighted with our Marche farmhouse where we will stay until May 16th! We unpacked and walked around the grounds before heading to dinner in Orciano which is a small nearby village. On our way, the rains returned but the sun was still able to shine through creating one of the most amazing double-double rainbows I have ever seen. I will not bore you with all of the photos I took but have selected a few of the best ones! The rainbow must have lasted at least 30-40 minutes because it was still shining through at the restaurant!

It was just about dark by the time we left the restaurant, Il Castagno and it was quite the adventure trying to navigate our way home without light along rural farm roads between villages but we finally made it and were full, relieved to be back safely, and ready for bed! Here is a photo Michael took from our bedroom window this morning.

Not sure what we will do today but plans include picking up my sister Elena and my brother-in-law, John at the Fano train station at 4:15pm. Whatever it is that we decide to do it will be another adventure to share with you tomorrow!
