hi all,
we've had yet another change of plans for our travels!!!!!
we are now going to spend 6months in asia instead of travelling europe in (forever in a van!!)
we are still selling the house (it went up for sale on tues ... bit of a sad moment... but we make our own destinies and move on) and we also have been given a gift horse of renting a nice little houes incredibly cheap for when we come back from travels to save up for our next travels.
anyone else as dizzy as us in their plans???
cheers xx

hi, i'm italian and i try to go in UK to live...

if is possible can you tell me about how much do you want seld your house, and where is? Just to have some information :-D

Good luck to your travel, is wonderfull dream that you believe it!
I suggest you buy some Lonley Planet guide to Asia... i read some books about orient and they are a lot of different from us.
Therefore inform by yourself before you move in all locations.
Maybe will be usefull have a laptop to connect easily to internet to have all information that you need!

good luck either!

Good luck with the house sale. Hope it goes quicker than mine. Still no takers, but now easter has been and gone things might pick up. Asia is a great choice, and you're not alone in selling up and seeing the world. Let us know how you get on anyway. So what countries have you got in mind to visit??

thanx D and Dave for your messages. We live in Lancashire at a place called Pendle which has a notorious past of the pendle witches of the 16th century (Demdike, Nutter and Device) they were taken to Lancaster and tried and hung for witchcraft. The area is scenically beautifulwith Pendle hill looking over the surrounding towns and villages, and close to the three peaks (Ingleborough, Wernside and Penyghent)

as for our first port of call in asia - well wer'e trying to work it out, dont know whether to go to malaysia first? we're trying to cost it at the moment - flights, accomodation etc, any suggestions?

I recommend everywhere, but thats probably not sensible advice. Definiteley don't miss Vietnam, my fave Asian country. Cambodia is a great experience too. Thailand has great beaches plus other things to do. Malaysia is on my to do list - i've read a fair bit about Malaysia since i discovered this site. Budgeting is always a grey area because everyone has different spending habits, but SE Asia is certainly much cheaper than the UK. In Vietnam you can stay in a decent hotel for $25 US a night. When you are ready to book flights try these - Travelbag, Flight Centre, Trailfinders, STA Travel and a little gem i have used the last 2 times is WestEastTravel. They all have websites.

hey michelle and sean!!
what you're doing sounds awesome!! i think its great that you can just get up and GO!!!! and if you're worried about all of the plans or forgetting some major detail, DONT WORRY!! lol.... everything always works out because it has to! everything will be completely fine, and of course, there's always going to be some little thing that screws up, but that just makes everything more memorable! and it's never something you can't fix! so have a great trip! sounds like you already are!

cheers for your message lauren, its such a great feeling of freedom to make the decision of 'lets just do it!'and why not! i always seem to make bigger decisions than most of my friends and family and we always go the extra mile to live our dreams, but this one is a biggy, i dont think that everyone took us 100 percent serious and rather thought that 'yeah wot a great dream' and 'i wish i'd have done it', but now reality is hitting with the house going up for sale and i have asked my boss for a sabaticle, and one of my dogs (we have 2) is going to live in ireland with sean's brother (boo hoo big style)
take care
