We're two friends (one male & one female - from two different countries) planning a trip to India this September. However, due to time constrains, we can only afford to spend 10 nights in North India. We plan to travel Leh and Delhi. We plan to visit the Pangong Tso Lake and the Nubra Valley while in Leh. Not sure what that is? Do a quick Google and you might just change your mind!

We're still in the midst of planning our itinerary, but here's what we've come up with so far - with the help of some itineraries we found online.

Also, one of us is thinking of continuing after the 25th, if anyone is keen in joining, we can plan something!

Note: The 16 Sep - 22 Sep itinerary was retrieved from a website online

16 Sep - DEL to LEH by flight
17 Sep - Leh Market & Shanti Stupa
18 Sep - Excursion to Sham Valley. Visit Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Drive to Magnetic hill, See picturesque landscapes at Nimmu village. Visit Likir Monastery.
19 Sep - Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La (the highest motorable road in the world)
20 Sep - Nubra Valley to Leh. Visit Diskit and Hunder village.
21 Sep - Leh to Pangong Lake The part we're most excited about!
22 Sep - Pangong Lake to Leh. Enroute visit Hemis monastery. Relax for the day / shop at local market.
23 Sep - Leh to Delhi to Agra
24 Sep - Visit the Taj Mahal
25 Sep - We'll end our short, but hopefully amazing experience!

26 - Mid October: Looking for travel companions to continue the rest of the trip!

Hopefully some of you will decide to join us for our little adventure!

Thanks for reading, and we hope to hear from you soon!

Welcome to India.
Well it may work out, but you are landing Leh by Air, It may be you have to take rest there for acclimatization at Leh. I have been to Indian Himalayas 10 times. I also felt mild headache after landing there by air. Best could have been by road to Leh via SriNagar. :(

Wish you all the best for your journey.

Looking forward to know your experience.

A very hurried trip...
Couple of things
Leh which is probably the lowest point in your trip to Ladakh is at 3,500m. most places would be pushing 4,000m, altitude sickness is a big danger and ensure that it doesnt get you down. Acclimatise properly, dont stir out of your room on the first day and do gentle forays on the next day. Leh is all slopes so even walking 50m will sap you.
If you can get the necessary permits you can go directly from Nubra to Pangong skipping Leh in between. That will give you one extra day.
If you need any more help mail me - -snip-
