How 'bout "The word is Coffee".
In the beginning was the word .... and the word is Coffee
"The Readers Digest" cafe
The Original Version
Okay ... Thanks for all the suggestions. I passed them on at lunchtime Saturday, which actually happened to stretch into dinner as well elsewhere. It turns out that my Chinese friend used the wrong expression when referring to opening a "book cafe". It's a "bookshop", which will only serve tea of coffee to patrons.
She mentioned that some of the English names could not be easily or pleasantly translated into Chinese. About 90% of her clientele will be Chinese. Her next idea was to use the word "Time" in the shop name (people & time reading books). To this, I offered "The Hour Glass". Turns out this translates very nicely into Chinese. See what she finally settles on in a month's time.
Again ... thanks for all TP ideas
I like that. "The Hour Glass" catchy, easy to remember, and it somehow sounds...classy. (sounds like you had a good day Wocca )
