Hey guys
I'm looking to travel to Australia in October. Have travelled in a group before but never on my own. I am a little bit nervous as this will be a big trip to venture on my own. Is anyone else going to be in Sydney around October? Also any tips on where to go along the way to Cairns and what activities to do would be greatly appreciated.

Hey
Yeah im looking to meet up with people whilst I am out there. At the moment I have nothing booked but am hoping to head out mid October to Syndey. BASE hotels have been recommended to me.
Have you booked your visa through a company or the Australian Government?

Hey Guys,
I've actually done all of Australia, so just thought I'd throw in my two cents on where to visit. For the east coast, the main ones would have to be Byron Bay, Noosa, Airlie Beach (Fraser Island/Whitsundays) and then Cairns..as well as going further up to the rainforests! Those spots are both great craic but also just really relaxing with great views. Now everyone is different, but I would have spent much less time on the east coast after doing the west coast...you gotta make sure you do that! It's ten times better (at least in terms of sights, activities and all that).
Also, WakeUp is a really good hostel in Sydney, so is Nomads. But don't stay in Base. In general they are a god chain but I found the Sydney one really old and run-down.
Sure lookin for anymore advice or tips, let me know!
All the best

I also haven't applied for visa or booked flights yet am waiting for pay day!! I have had quotes from STA and they seem pretty good. I just had a few friends who said to organise it myself for cheaper. Im just thinking if they do it all its less hassle.
Thanks for your advice on where to visit!! Sounds awesome. I cant wait to get something booked. What sort of work did you do out there?

I double jobbed it cause I found it rather hard to get the hours with just one job, so during my time there I was a barista, worked at the circus, worked as a night time security guard and then as a waiter as well. All based in Melbourne because I just love that city!!

Rach Thailand sounds good, its on my list of places to go as I have never been yet. Im up for meeting in Oz. Do you have any idea where you might go first? I think im going to head straight to Sydney first.
That's quite a range of jobs you had. Worked at the circus sounds like a fun job! I have a few friends who live in Melbourne so will definitely be visiting there.
