Hey Guys,

What is the best/cheapest way to get from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon? Are there any tours etc. that you can do that depart from Phoenix.

Also, are there any hostels/cheap places to stay in either place?

These should help:)

Here is the actual Grand Canyon Site (hotels that are VERY close and some that are IN the park)

The hotels in Phoenix and close to the Grand Canyon are very close in price so it depends more on WHERE you want to stay!

Have fun! I love Arizona:)

The last time I did that route I drove, so I don't know about flights. However, driving there was really wonderful and scenic. If you can manage to swing through Sedona on your way it is well worth it. If I remember correctly the drive is about 4 or 5 hours. There are plenty of helicoptor and biplane tours that go up there, and you could find out about those through a simple Google search. The Sedona area, especially, offers a lot of these tours, and Sedona is only about an hour or so north of Pheonix.

I don't know of any hotels/hostels in the area because I have gone camping each time I've been. There is plenty of camping nearby for relatively cheap. You can check out the website for more details on the park and its amenities for travellers.

The best way to stay at the Grand Canyon (depending on the time of year) is to camp out. You can't have an open campfire--it's restricted to the camp grills provided at the sites, but it's loads of fun, and no extra charge once you're inside the park.

Best bet is to go to a Wal-Mart or other like store, get the cheapest tent you can find, and if it's not big enough, get a cheap tarp and bungee cords to make an extension off the side. That's what we did!

You may as well go to Campmore!
