Hi All,

I'm doing a mini round the world trip on my own starting in NYC 28th Aug - travelling axcross USA - Leave LA to Fiji on 28Th Oct - Leave Fiji 11th November to Sydney - Leave Sydney Go SE Asia (Dates TBC)

First of all I'm focusing on planning my USA trip as they're doesn't seem to be much of a backpacking culture there. Has anyone travelled there before or will be travelling there around my dates? This is my current plan, some hostels have been booked

New York 2 days (bus)
Philly (to watch Kevin Hart) 1 day
New York 5 days (bus)
Niagara Falls 2 days (bus)
Boston 2 days ( Fly Miami)
Miami 5 days (bus)
Nashville 4 days (bus)
Memphis 2 days ( fly Vegas)
Las Vegas 5 days (bus)
West coast (1 month location tbc)

I want to go New Orleans but I'm worried about going alone.

Any tips would be appreciated if you've travelled USA before or if you're planning on travelling get in touch ☺️

The one day in Philly seems short to me (but ive not been) i would say if you can change flights to head to philly for 3 days then back to new york (just to save bus rides).

Been to Boston and New York and loved both and in NYC there is always something to do so you'll never get bored. Your trip looks awesome and makes me want to head back over again. Have you activities planned for when you go or just play it by ear?

I might extend Philly for two days, it's only 2 hour bus ride from New York so it's no bother only going for 2 days!

No activities as such, I'm just trying to do my research into each city before I book domestic travel to ensure I see everything I want to while in town. Have you done a USA travelling trip before?

Only thing I'll say is that New Orleans should be added. Just don't get too drunk down on Bourbon Street and you'll be fine. It's one of the best culinary cities in the US (actually #1 in my book, though New York, Las Vegas, and San Francisco are the main challengers for that title). And visiting its for its french architecture, voodoo palaces, and its interesting markets (including the "French Market") and for Jackson Square makes it worth at least 2 days. I'd take a day from Nashville (3 days is enough) and one day from New York (since you have 7 days total scheduled for there now).
