Traveling australia alone feb 2016

Hi guys.
Ive decided to take a chance and travel Australia alone for a year in February, ive got my visa and flights are booked for the 26th of february. I'm extremely excited but terrifed at the same time im usually a proper home bird! I'm from the U.K. and I'm 22 just looking for general help, if anyone has done this before I'd love some advice!
Also if anyone is in melbourne around the same time that would be cool!

I'm afraid I'm no help with advice or tips (never been before)
But I'm also thinking of travelling to Australia around the same time so hoping this forum will give me some guidance also!!
Melbourne is on my list of places to go as well so nice to know I may not be the only one travelling alone.

I'll be flying out in April next year to do a working holiday for a year, I'm landing in Sydney so let me know if you're in the area at the time

I wouldn't go for a job fruit picking unless I was sure they were legitimate employers, there's loads of scams going about at the moment where they sometimes don't even pay you for the work. I'll be looking for work and will be looking into options like call centre, laboring, anything really!

With things to see, I would suggest the sky dive where you land on Mission Beach, apparently it's a beautiful view. I'm planning on doing Jim's alternative adventure tour bus to Nimbin in Bryon Bay and a canoe tour and midnight in Coff's harbour, really there's so much to do so it's hard to plan before but I'd Fraser Island and the Whit Sundays are a must!
