Hi guys,

I'm planning on going on a working holiday to Oz for a year by myself in March next year. I'm hoping to stay in either Melbourne or Sydney and work as much as a can in the first 6 months to get money to travel around the last 6 months or something similar.

I am looking to stay in Oz if I love it.

Bearing in mind I didn't even go to Uni away from home I am pretty much bricking it!

I feel like I've grown up loads in the past few years any really looking forward to going already but just wondered if anyone around my age is flying out there at the same time and maybe we could meet up?

Also any advice about accommodation and how I could plan my trip would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance :)

Hey!

I'm flying out to Sydney on the 25th of April, I'm also going to have a working holiday visa for a year, would be great to meet up!

I'm booking my flights with STA travel, they offer a hostel package for a week that helps get you on your feet and even sort out your bank account over there so you don't get emergency tax.

Let me know if you're up for meeting up out there :)

Hi Pops!

Funnily enough I've just booked an appointment with them to get that arranged haha!

I'm actually planning on delaying my leaving date until April so would be funny if we were on the same trip! Are you doing the stopover in Hong Kong etc? Is it the ultimate plus package that you went for?

I'm so excited

Would be awesome to meet up!

Hey,

Haha how strange my stopover is in Hong Kong, I'll be flying out on the 25th of April from Gatwick if you wanted to swap flight info and book the same flight. I'm going to book the 7 night starter hostel to help me find work and sort my bank account, didn't really fancy any of their more planned packages just as it seemed the time frames where quite limited.

Same, I can't wait, it's going to be a great experience, should meet up out there and go on an adventure!

I'm travelling solo, I'm 23 doing a few tours with STA first (Bali in january) then Australia end of Jan then i'll be doing the East Coast on my todd! So feel free if any other girls are in the same position to message me!

I'm sure you're going to have a great experience. However, I personally don't feel safe traveling alone unless I know the place by heart. There is always a risk of being lost, becoming victim of any crime, or becoming sick and nobody there to take care of me.

Afternoon all, I'm extensively travelled and never had more than a delayed flight, and one particular begger in Sydney who tried to tap me for some money with a very lame excuse...twice. The idea I have with backpacking is the adventure you have, and it gives you a better perspective of the world. I will be going back to Australia in Nov 16 for about 6 months :)

Hey I'm pretty much in the same boat! I'm 23 and looking to head out by myself the end of March with a WHV. I haven't done much traveling but am excited to start a new chapter and would consider staying if I like it! I don't have my heart set on a location, I figured I'd go there and find a city I liked where I can get some work.
