Quoting dpd

Thanks Anne, I'm going to be in the Chachapoyas region for about two weeks from the 19th May and then down to Lima on the 2 June. I have a gap between that and flying to Cuzco on 20th June. Any ideas or suggestions?

You can do a lot of little trips in between that time. You can take a quick tour to see the Nazca Lines in Ica (few hours South) and I would even venture into Arequipa. There is a lot of tourist sightseeing there as well. Do you have to fly out of Lima to go to Cuzco? Because if you are in Arequipa, you are already pretty close to Cuzco...

Other options...into the mountains by bus to Huancayo (only few hours away, west) or to Huaraz (few hours north). But I think if I were you I would head South to Nazca and Arequipa...there is a little more to do there.

Cheers Anne, well the flight from Lima to Cuzco is booked because I did not want to have and problems. BThanks for the ideas for the intervening period, I can check those out. Just one other thing, how cold is it at night as in will I need a sleeping bag in the hostels. I need one for the Inca trek anyway though I think I can hire one. Mind you I think I've got one in the cubbord here.

Has the Avon lade called yet

The company was SAS Travel Peru and I'm not sure about the money. I'll check and update you tomorrow, I'm in New York at the moment and have not got everything to hand. You will see all the info on their website.
