Afternoon all,

If anybody knows of another, cheaper company that will do this trek (link below), then your experienced advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also I realise this is a massive long shot, but if anybody is in Uganda in early November, and fancies tracking gorillas with Insight Safari holidays then please let me know, as i've been informed by Insight that getting more than just myself on the trip will lower the price.

Many thanks!
Huw

You didn't mention the cost of the Insight tour. Each permit for a one-hour visit (once you get to the site where the gorillas are) is $600; although that is being discounted to $350 during November 2015, when you plan to visit. If you go online, you will find that you can join a two-week accommodated (no camping) tour of both Kenya and Uganda for around $2,500. That includes the permit for one gorilla visit. I went on such a tour with a company based in Cape Town, South Africa; and joined the tour in Nairobi. The tour was priced in South African rand. That was an advantage, since the rand was -- and remains -- depressed against the U.S. dollar. Hope this helps.
