Have a look under Travel Guides/ Asia and then click on the first time that India is mentioned - you'll get a whole load of ideas. From my experience, Varanasi, Agra, Amritsar, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Udaipur, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai are all worthwhile but you'll never get round all those in two weeks. Where do you fly into and where do you fly out from? If it's Delhi, focus just on say Delhi, Amritsar and Agra.

Look at the travel guide, get an idea of the area you want to visit and then ask more directed questions. Good look with your planning and enjoy India.

Punjab is a state which is full of culture and many heritages. Agriculture is the largest industry in Punjab, it is the largest single provider of wheat to India.Punjab also has the largest number of Steel Rolling Mill Plants in India. You can visit to Golden Temple in Amritsar.Dukhniwaran Sahib in Patiala.
In Patiala you will notice that equal importance is given to each and every religion. For instance there is a Gurudwara for the Sikh community which is visited by people from various religions, a mosque is there from the ancient times, many temples and churches are also located in this beautiful and multi-cultural city as there are too many religious places to visit in Patiala. There are many well-known churches, temples, Gurudwara’s, mosques located all over the city of Patiala.

[ Edit: Sorry, no promos please. ]

Hi Nmarjimc, I also had been last year and I visit Rajasthan, Calcutta, Gujarat, and Maharashtra, there you get the real culture of India you can also visit the Kerala in south India.
According to you, you want to visit in this month then I will say you should visit Rajasthan- there are many historical places like Jaisalmer fort, Udaipur, Jaipur and you can also visit mount-abu this is not a historical place but you can enjoy parties.
