Farm Work Australia

I'm currently in Brisbane and after unsuccessfully trying to find a good job here I decided to try my luck with finding farm work. Only issue is I have no idea where to begin. Luckily I have my own transportation so getting anywhere in Queensland won't be an issue.

If anyone can offer advice about finding farm work that would be greatly appreciated. Although I've heard "horror stories" about backpackers getting ripped off by doing commission work.

Download the harvest guide (the PDF at the bottom of that page). Look up the Queensland section, see which regions will have peak season for crops coming up, and head over there. (If it's already peak season right now, they should already have hired everyone they need, so you probably want to be somewhere a bit before peak season hits.)

(*frowns* That website appears to be not responding right now, but check in a couple of hours, and it should be back up. It's the official government job site, so not likely to just disappear.)
