It could be good for travelers point and for us , the VT refugees, to study the possibility to transfer the data and information we have in VT to your web

And Hello from me - another exile from VT. I know I already introduced myself here several hours ago but am struggling a bit to find my way around. It is good to see so many old friends here and to receive such a welcome from TP members.

Hi I'm Steve previously TooTallFinn24 from VT. I was there just under five years and loved the site but had heard good things about Travellerspoint about how friendly it is.

I retired early a few years back and have been fortunate to have great health and to travel to nearly 30 new countries in just the past six years.

Our next big trip is to Croatia, Bosnia and Slovenia in September. We never take tours and lately have been staying at wonderful AIR BNB's all over Europe. Can we comment on those here or is it not allowed like on VT?

Do the more seasoned members have any suggestions for a "rookie," of how to best avail ourselves of the resources here as well as being a contributing member? I read something about not to edit a post......

Thanks for all your help. Hoping I can be a good contributing member.

Steve

Not editing a post is really only during your first couple of days of posting activity. Mostly it's safe, too, but sometimes (I don't know when) one of the automated anti-spam scripts sees it as more suspicious than is warranted. Maybe when you submit the edited post too swiftly, or when the post is very short, or...? So, best to just avoid it if you can.

I see you've already fleshed out your profile, and found the travel helper section. In general I'd recommend to just look around and see what all is here. (I might try to do a general guide post tonight, maybe? Have people visiting right now, so sadly lack much time.) There are some limitations for very new members which you might run into (e.g. max number of PMs you can send each day), but they're all designed to mostly not be hit by "average" users, and will fade away after you've spent a few days / weeks here.
