Hi all,

Not quite a true travellers email but wondered if anyone had experience of Koh Samui?

Contemplating going with the family for summer holiday in June. Research suggests weather will be hot and humid but still ok to go with the odd evening rain shower.

I'm quite active when I go away, normally renting a car. What do people think about it with a 4 and 6 year old? Beaches are good for them, but wondering if you can sea kayak with them (buoyancy aids provided). Any other activities people enjoyed that would be good to do?

The day trips I've seen include, national park (with 40 islands), all the diff beaches on Koh Samui, Ko Phangan, and potentially Surat Thani.

Would really appreciate any help and advice.

Koh Samui is the largest and the most touristy of the islands. For young children are the beaches of Bo Phut and Mae Nam well known for its calm sea.

Kids will never get bored take them to a giant Buddha, the Tiger Zoo, and aquarium or a crocodile farm there are enough things to to do. Your kids will love the kayak, sail through a maze of high limestone cliffs is a wonderful thing to do

Hi. I've not been to Koh Samui but I've just returned from a few weeks in Malaysia with a 4 and 6 year old (I live in the U.K.). If renting a car ensure they have boosters and car seats, I'd suggest paying a little more to use Avis or Enterprise rather than a local company.

Ensure your kids have relevant vaccinations too. But you probably knew that 😐

Have a great time whatever you do
