That's about the worst list of 'best' places to visit in Europe I can imagine.

Yeah, Venice makes the grade, and Rome, but not the others for me.

Add the Lofoten Islands, St Petersburg, the West Highlands of Scotland, and Iceland and you're beginning to have a list. :-)

Best for what? Best for nightlife and partying? Best for history? Best for scenery? Best for hookups?

How long you can be gone, how much money you have and even the time of year you visit are factors to consider.

Yeah i loved Rome too, thats the beauty of opinion, I'd say Bled, Slovenia, Plitvice, Croatia and Bayeux, France would be on my list.

So hard to define "best". Are you into art? Hiking? History?

My top 10 would include Iceland, Estonia, high tatras, scottish highlands, Krakow, Interlaken, and somewhere on the coast of Ireland - maybe Slieve League, Doolin, or Cork although it's hard to pick only 10! For people that don't like history or the outdoors most of my picks wouldn't be particularly great for though.
