I think perusing travel blogs and their experiences is the best way to go!

if you don't find any help from the blogs then you must go and watch some of your favorites destinations on you tube. Might be possible you would get any help from there.

A lot of my trips have been decided based on luck and opportunity. Uganda was for work, I went to Chicago because I was sent there for work, my trip this summer is because friends have bought a holiday house and we're going out to visit them, my trip to Poland was extending a visit for a wedding and at least one trip to Spain was because husband was sent there for a conference and it made sense to meet him there. So it's not always entirely in my hands, but all of those trips have been fantastic.

Other times, it's based on practical considerations. We chose Turkey (the first time) because of a combination of the pound tanking against the Euro and being stronger against the Lira, having a friend who could recommend some good hotels, and quite fancying some sunshine. The second time, we went to Antalya because we loved it the first time we went and Pamukale because I had seen it on a travel show years ago and added it to my long term wish list.

In terms of future travels, I've added countries to my wish list because I've seen them in films (New Zealand, parts of Germany), because I've seen them in other people's blogs (Croatia, Montenegro) or because I've seen them in documentaries, often about history or art (Trier, Matera, Lisbon). I don't know how many of the countries on my wish list I'll make it to, but next time we're choosing a destination I at least have a list somewhere that I can look at and see if the practicalities line up.
