I would also like to transfer VT content before it's not available. Thanks for the link in advance.

After more than 3 hours this is the message I get on the download page link:

Import is in progress. Come back to this page later (or refresh) to see progress.

stage 1 of 6 - Fetching a list of photos to import

Photos: 0 imported, 0 failed, 0 left in queue

Xaver, I got the same message yesterday. I just shut the pc down, went to sleep and when I woke up the transfer was complete. No idea how long it took, but it was probably pretty fast since I only had little over 1400 photos to be transferred.

Yes Xaver - Patience is required!
I got worried too but this morning I found all the transfers were completed 3878 Photos which are readily accessible.
Reviews and tips were transferred - and presumably are now somewhere safe in "storage" until TP have worked out how to display them ( says she hopefully!)

Thanks, I'll check again tomorrow.

I could easily follow the process of uploading yesterday. During the 2 hrs of uploading I could by updating the page see the stages 1, 2 etc and see how many pics were imported and how many were still in queue.

FWIW, I suspect the main reason this transfer process takes a long time to get started is that it does them one person at a time. So it waits until all earlier imports from other VT members have completed before starting on yours. It's a lot of data to be transferred over, and TP wouldn't want to cause any trouble for VT in its final days by causing too much traffic at once.

As Sander says I have set it up to not overload VT with constant traffic which can certainly cause a lag if there are others ahead of you in the queue. In this case though, it seemed to hit an error on one of the imports and has been stuck on that for several hours. I'll check what's happening and get it back on track shortly.
