I'm not aware of a sudden influx of VT members joining. A few may have joined as a result of conversations at the recent VT Euromeet where we all talked about the various "new homes" we have found, but I doubt that would be more than a handful, and they would have had to upload their photos manually as the option to import from a no longer existing website is closed to them. So I can't see that as a likely explanation for the sudden increase. Maybe Peter can shed some light?

Just went through the forum and seems the Travelpod closure has something to do with it. Fine, I get that. And good to have them on board to store stuff😀.

If it's just a one-off that the photos are going to reach this amount then it's probably something we could all chip away and at clear within the next few days. But if this is going to be a regular occurrence then that would be unmanageable. I went through over 1000 last night which took a while, so 44,000 is a lot of work!

I'll hold off until Peter confirms that these are photos that do need to be moderated.

Ok, cool. It looks like the sudden surge will be relatively short -term then.

I went through thousands the last couple of days. It took hours; but I didn't mind since I'm recovering from a cold that I caught shortly after I returned from a trip. There are some very nice images.

It's time consuming to individually determine which photo to feature. Is there some method by which an entire page of 50 photos can be deleted with one click? For example, there were scores of photos that were digitally "time and/or place stamped" (see my post earlier today on travel photography). Too bad this happens. As I said, it's like scrawling grafitti on an image. Ouch!

No, none of these should be deleted. Ack!

They are photos from the Travelpod import and can be moderated as normal. Feature if they are good enough, ignore if they aren't.

OK thanks for clarifying. I must have misunderstood your previous comments. I'll try to get stuck in and do my share later today and in coming days.

No, I think you understood well enough :) I deleted all those test accounts the same day. I should have followed up and let you all know. The queue at the moment is all genuine. :)

Aha, now it all makes sense

Busy with my own blog and photos this morning but will do some moderating later I promise!
