I went through several thousand this morning. It's wonderful to see the progression of the photos over the years. It's amazing how beautiful some of the latest images are. It helps with a better camera, too!

I thought some of the best photos taken were on hikes. And from the photos I saw, I discovered that some RV (recreational vehicle) parks are set in very scenic locations. Makes me want to travel around in an RV.

Thanks all for sharing!

I'm really enjoying going through them all too and it's giving me plenty of inspiration for future trips!

What would help at least a little is that you can choose how many photos show up every page. I prefer options like 100 or 200, as it takes a while for the next page to show up.

Regarding featuring: Nice ones are added but to be honest, and again it is ment as positive feedback, we don't need a 100 photos of let's say Angkor Wat or the Great Ocean Road. Also, when entire collections of something are uploaded and they all are great try and feature just one, maybe 2. Finally, focus on lessen known areas if possible. Just my 2 cents..;)

I'm certainly trying to follow those rules but I also like to gave everyone a chance, so if someone has posted hundreds of photos of, say, Ankor Wat and nowhere else, I may pick out just one (the most unusual I can find) to feature - to encourage them :) I confess that as a keen photographer myself I'm probably looking at the quality of the image ahead of its location, but I feel the joy of having several different mods is that we'll all bring a different perspective to the task resulting in a variety of images.

I think it would be nice for people to be notified that their photos have been featured & where the featured photos can be seen .. e.g . I am not sure people realize a featured photo might get used in the travel guide.

I noticed by chance ( on my Profile ) that a couple of mine had been featured & it was only at that point that I added a bit of a description to the photo . . I have too many to add a description to every photo, I just don't have the patience

This is a really good idea - I think generally people would love to know. Perhaps it could appear as a notification on the top-right globe icon that we have already.

Yes - they would not want a hundred e mails hitting their in-box.

I've done some more this evening but they seem to be growing faster than we can keep up with them! When I left off yesterday there were 44,000 - this evening when I logged on there were 69,000

I suspect the thousands you now see are simply being restored by Peter since I mistakenly "deleted" them. I'm familiar with much of what's in the queue. Some already are featured photos.
