hey, just wondering if anyone knows roughly how much money per week foreigners get for working in the ski fields in Canada such as Banff, Lake Louise etc.... Just curious to find out before i put my application for a visa in. Im interested in bar work, lifty etc... cheers!!!
CANADIAN SKI FIELD WAGE !!
Banff and Lake Louise are in Alberta. Minimum wage per hour in Alberta is $5.95, but usually it is higher...it depends on what you're working and all that. Ski fields, to the best of my knowledge, sometimes provides accoms. But do double check.
Hope this helps!
Peace,
J!
the minimum wage in Québec, places like Mont Tremblant, is 7.30$, so you'd be making at least that if you want a job in a store or behind a counter (e.g. ice cream store, food court at the top of the mountain). If however, you want to work in a restaurant at the base of the hill, you will probably get 6.55$/hr plus tips. These are the jobs that are well worth the low base pay, because some places can get up to 300$ in tips, WEEKLY. As far as other jobs go, I'm not too sure.
Hope it helps!
Hey, thanks guys, your info does help alot, i was hoping to be earning at least $8 an hour just so i can save some money for further travel....i heard it was $5 and was a bit put off......your info was helpful, anyone else knows any more info please post, thanks again!
Don't fret! Some restaurants hire hostesses for higher than minimum wage so that's another option. I got paid 10$/hour this summer as a seating hostess! Plus there are jobs in the hotels that hire for 8$/hour or higher. Receptionists usually get paid a lot more than minimum wage. So your options are way open! Good luck!
