I am going on my honeymoon with my husband to be woo

Anyway, we are looking at South America to travel for a three week adventure.
We are going at the end of December over Christmas for three weeks.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend any itineraries?
South America is SO big and i don't know where to start.

Id love to see Victoria Falls. There is a lot i want to see and my knowledge on South America is so limited.
Any help would be great, even if its just naming some really awesome areas, for me to do my own research :-) I really don't know where to start.

Thank you in advance :)

Do you mean South Africa as Victoria Falls are there?

I would definitely visit Rio in Brazil and the Angel Falls in Venezuela. The latter is something really special - the highest falls on the Earth after all ;)

Victoria Falls is definitely in Africa!

In South America, there's Angel Falls in Venezuela, Iguazu Falls on the border of Brazil and Argentina near Paraguay and in Guyana there's Kaieteur Falls, all worth going to. There's Machu Picchu, the Salt Flats of Bolivia, the Amazon jungle from Peru to the estuary in Brazil, Patagonia down in the South, the Galapagos Islands. And that's only a handful of suggestions.

You'll need to tell us your interests and perhaps do a little more personal research first so the we can offer you more tailor-made suggestions.

You might be referring to IguaƧu Falls - don't miss it when you're in South America as it's absolutely spectacular, and it's worth seeing from both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides as they offer completely different perspectives.

Victoria falls is on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe, not in South America or South Africa.

With everyone else, definitly depends one what you want to see and do. But yes, it's massive, so pick a region and explore that one!

If you like the outdoors and hiking, you could fly down to El Calafate to see the glacier, hop over to hike the W circuit in the Chilean Patagonia, and come back to Argentina up to El Bolson and Bariloche in the lakes District of Argentina. Lovely three weeks outdoors! Good food, too!

In the north you could fly into Buenos Aires (amazing city with awesome food and nightlife!) and head over to Mendoza for wine country and up to Salta and the north for amazing scenery and awesome culture around Tilcara, do a side trip to Igaucu falls or to Las Pampas to ride horses on an estancia.

Could fly into Santiago and do wine country south of there, then up north to Valparaiso and further up to the Atacama desert, even into the salt plains of Bolivia and back down.

Fly into Lima and do Arapiqua, Cusco, and the Macchu Picchu circuit.

The possibilities are endless but I'd recommend picking a small region and going from there! Busses in South America are awesome but the rides are long and not on the cheapest side so keeping the region small is essential for three weeks unless you fly a lot. Example....Mendoza to Salta looks tiny on a map but is an overnight bus ride, close to 15 hours!

As you are in the planning stages I'd say decide on what you both like the most and pick a region from there. And also congratulations! :).
