ex-VT'ers - Viewing your imported tips and pages

I'm still a while off getting any system up to show the tips / location pages from VT. In the interim, I've made it so you can at least see your imported content on here (and copy/paste do whatever you want with it).

But there is some bad news. Unfortunately my import was not as complete as I hoped. The tips imported are not stored linked to their location. I have a crude way of guessing what the most likely place is, but it's not perfect and not guaranteed to be right. So, I've also made a system for you to correct this if you want. Either that, or just wait until they can be used somewhere on the site at which point you'll be able to choose which ones to keep and which ones you might just want to not re-publish.

Location page and tips are all linked to your imported photos, so you will see photos with them. You will see when you click through to the tips that there is select field next to each one where you can choose which location it belongs to. Just click the tick button next to it if it's correct and adjust before ticking if not.

I've been working through mine checking the locations. Most are in the right place and those that aren't, it's usually the next location in the drop down menu, which is helpful. I have a lot of tips though, so I may wait till I decide how I'm going to use them, if at all.

They look pretty good on these pages (clearer than on VT in some ways) although I note that only one photo seems to be attached to each - is that right? Also with restaurant tips it seems to have imported any title we'd given our tip (I realise how much I over-used some, such as "A light lunch"!) but not the name of the restaurant. However I suspect these are the ones I'm least likely to reuse here as restaurants disappear or change hands so frequently that the tips date.

Another thing I've noticed is that a handful of them seem to be duplicated. Is there any way your system could be set so that we could easily delete duplicates if we're working through checking the locations? If not, it can wait of course till we come to use them

See Peter's first post in this thread Adam - that will come but is not ready yet. I understand the next step will be to make it possible for us to edit this content, as it may well need tweaking to make sense here (for instance, I had hyperlinks that used VTML so they don't work here and will need to be reinstated or deleted). But we must be patient

I hope you all have noticed that if you click on your tips and open them, all the photos are there. Nothing has been lost but you do have to open it to see all the pictures.

When I click on the tip I only see one photo Sally. And when I click on that photo I am in my photo gallery and not necessarily among the photos that were orignally attached to that tip. Are you doing something different to me?

I do however get all three photos when I click on my travel pages

Thank you , Peter. It's so great to see the content saved. Although the tips and the location are not linked, for me it's not a big problem because if I ever decide to publish them, first I'll have to check if they are not out-of-date and delete the content that is not valid. So some work will have to be done, this way or another.
