Hi, I am Pankti Shah, a Solo Female Traveller, I am planning to travel to Thailand next month. So can anyone suggest me some famous places to visit?

How about visiting Bangkok? Probably the most famous city in Thailand!

Hi Pankti,

Try Bangkok, Pattaya (very nice beach I heard), KO Samui. Also, refer to this https://www.tripadvisor.in/Attractions-g293915-Activities-Thailand.html

You may want to visit the floating market (be aware of the smell, it smells of meat, so if you are a vegetarian, be prepared).

The Grand Palace and the wildlife friends are a good place to visit.

Also, it could get pretty humid, so be prepared for that as well.

Read this post as well from a previous member who enquired about Thailand - http://www.travellerspoint.com/forum.cfm?thread=110074

Hope that helps!

Good luck.

KD

How long will you be in Thailand? If 8 days or less narrow down the cities you visit to no more than two.

Bangkok of course, most international flights first land there and depart from there.

Chiang Mai is a popular destination. If time is short flying there will save time.

Pattaya is a big attraction for tourists from India. The beach is no good for swimming because the water is not clean enough. Hotels are cheaper than other beach areas in Thailand. Cheap local transportation, malls, street vendors, nightlife, restaurants, etc.

For hotel location Bangkok perhaps the Pratunam or Siam area. You should have some idea how much per night you want to spend on a room each night. Bangkok is a big city. Some hotel locations allow you to use city rail service. From Suvarnabhumin Airport there is rail service to the city area up to midnight. Don Muang Airport also has international flights. If possible try to avoid the flights from India that land in the middle of the night. You still pay the same price for a hotel room but only use it for a few hours. Also with middle of the night arrivals you have less choice for transportation to hotel.

This forum has a guide section for Thailand. (May not show as well on a phone, better to use a laptop.)

Coming from India the weather may not be a big difference. Expect heat for May, some rain June.

Come back with questions.

Good luck.

North part of Thailand has more temples and people there are like old-fashioned, quiet.:)

South part is much more popular, crowded, noisy, modern.
