Hi everyone! I'm planning to travel solo and enjoy the beach. Any suggestions on an uncrowded beach in Asia?

Yeah, it is! And very diverse too. Thanks for the suggestions! I'll go ahead and research on those places.

Named # 3 in Travellers Choice beaches in Asia .. Ngapali beach in Myanmar .. long & sandy .. calm waters for swimming .. some good beach restaurants serve excellent fish meals .. a few ladies sell fruit but other than that nobody is wandering the beach selling things. Very laid back but not the cheapest place on the planet and the options of getting there are pretty much to flying in. Most people stay for a few days at the start or tail end of a trip elsewhere in Myanmar . . I spent 40 days there in 2016 & loved it.

An easier beach to reach in Myanmar might be Ngwesaung, to the south of Ngapali. There are return buses from Yangon to Ngwesaung every day (about 6 hours each way).

There is something to say about normal "crowded" beaches that many thousands of tourists have been happy with. They have good support facilities! Choice of hotels in various price ranges. Good restaurants that are used to Western meal choices and with some basic hygiene requirements. Shopping, supermarkets, hospitals and local transportation that doesn't break the bank.

Popular beach areas usually have decent transportation to get there! Also there is some "safety in numbers" when being in an area frequented by other tourists. Even as a guy I wouldn't want to be the only foreigner on some almost deserted beach area. My watch, camera, cell phone, money in my wallet might be more than the locals make working a full year 10 hours a day at hard labor!

I wouldn't fly halfway around the world just to sit on a beach. You can do that closer to home. Try to include some other things beside just getting a suntan. Check the weather available for the month you choose to travel!

I'll throw this out - Koh Sukorn! If you choose this place try to include a visit to Bangkok and perhaps Chiang Mai too even if there are many thousands of tourists crawling all over those cities.

I personally would be bored silly in this (almost) remote area. I like people around! I like to walk to restaurants, beer bars, malls, travel agencies for tours and other stuff to do! I like to talk to other people!

If you are going to go halfway around the world don't try to do this as a weekend jaunt. Long distance travel means lots of time changes. If Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia or Thailand try to stay at least for a couple weeks to get your money's worth for a long expensive flight. Of course research visa requirements and how to handle your money when overseas.

Have fun.

Thank you everyone for your replies! I might consider Myanmar since you guys recommended it. Will go through a lot of planning since it does make sense to stay for a long period of time in a place to maximize your travel. Again, thank you!

I like Bai Xep beach village just south of Quy Nhon, Vietnam. I stayed at Haven Vietnam Guesthouse, but there are also hostel rooms available in this village. The Quy Nhon area is very friendly and as yet undiscovered by most international tourists.

The uncrowded beach in Asia, visit Thailand. Their beaches are most beautiful & uncrowded.
Freedom Beach is very beautiful in Phuket, Thailand.

Hong Kong is not the first place I think of for beaches but Shek O (here on Google maps) is quite pleasant & the only tourists I saw there were Chinese.

I think I did blog about it on TP .. it is a pleasant bus ride from the concrete jungle.

Hong Kong is a nice stopover on the way Asia for me & one of these days I will get out to the other islands around about.
