Travel Forums System Talk my profile - blog listings

I currently provide my friends with a link to my profile and have them scroll down to where it says "travel logs XXX runs". They can then click on any of my blogs they wish to view. I do this so they don't have to have a link to each individual blog I have. What I would like to do is put those blogs in order of the year of the trip. Is this possible? Thanks for any help.

I don't know if it will work but you could try this . . go to edit mode of any blog & towards the bottom, play with the date in posting time .. see if that moves one blog. If so, do it for the others.

As a suggestion .. have a look at my blog .. http://hasbeen.travellerspoint.com/toc/ .. the titles of my entries are similar to yours .. so, one blog is all I need to get the effect that you want .. I play with the posting times to sort the entries in my preferred order.

Perhaps your future blogs could be one blog instead of many.

Steve

I am not trying to adjust the "Latest Blog Entries" section but instead just underneath that where it says "travel logs XXX runs". I am not sure if I can change the order of the blogs versus changing order of entries in a single blog. The posting dates for each entry in their corresponding blog has a posting date of that year so I'm not sure tinkering with those dates would have any effect.

I understood what you wanted & thought it might work doing what I suggested but it will not.

I see no way to do what you want. I cannot change the order of my three blogs. The system seems to sort them in the order they were created.

Sorry.

I fear you have very little control over the order in which the blogs are listed on your profile. "Public" blogs always list above non-public blogs, but I think other than that it's determined by... order of creation? Probably.

Might be that Peter's work on re-organizing the profile page will improve things, but that's going to still be quite a while before it's finished.

What you could maybe do for now, is to create a "main" / "introduction" blog with an easy to remember domain, and to put a single post in there, listing all your other blogs in the order you want. That gives you the ability to maybe also include a short description of each, or do a bit more than your profile allows. And then just community that blog to everyone.

Also, on each blog you can create links in the sidebar of that blog, which could for example allow you to cross-link all of them. (With as many blog as you have, that's going to be a bother to maintain, but might be worth it all the same.) You do that in the blog management area under Manage -> Links.

Sander, thanks for the suggestions. I did create an intro page as you put it called http://jerry-sue50.travellerspoint.com - then i put only 1 link in each individual blog so that viewers can return to the intro page for the link to another trip if they wish. Thanks again!
