Perhaps you need to give more information to get any useful responses - cities? Countryside? Museums? Sport? Hiking? Cycling?Cool? Hot? Beach? Nightlife? In July? In January? The more specific and detailed you are, the more useful the responses you'll get.

We'd like some places near the sea, just to lie on the beach, drink fresh cocktails or some luxury hotels with good accomodation. Countries like Italy, Spain, France, Greece

If you're looking for a seaside holiday, then Crete is a wonderful holiday destination. It's the largest of the Greek Islands and it offers plenty of activities for you to experience.

The Agios Nikolaos resort is a splendid lagoon with pristine beaches, vibrant nightlife, and has various watersports. In this port town, you can find exquisite restaurants and boutique shops, perfect for couples.

For accommodation, the city of Chania is known to have a wide range of family villas which are luxurious yet affordable. You can find seaside houses that offer splendid views and there are also private oases near the beach resort of Maleme.

Crete has a Meditteranean climate which means that you can expect good weather throughout most of the year. I'd recommend visiting around May to June as these months are just outside of the high season. This means that there will be fewer tourists, rates are lower, and the weather won't be as hot.

Agree on this. Although I haven't been there, I've read lots of positive things about the place.

You might also look at Nice in France. The city is busy and vibrant with a great nightlife. If you stayed at the historic (and gorgeous) Hotel Negresco, there are watersports right across the street at Blue Beach. Obviously, you can spend your days sitting on Blue Beach, but the Water Sports right across from the hotel include parasailing from the beach. Hotel Negresco web site

You can check the Nice Tourist Office for other things to do in the area. Public transportation is excellent or you could rent a car for a day or two to visit some of the quaint French villages nearby, like Saint Paul, Eze, Menton, Antibes, Tourrettes-sur-Loup and many others. The Mercantour National Park is also not too far and stunning. Nice Tourist Office web site

Here is a blog entry of mine with photos of Nice including the Hotel and the ParaSailing landing point. Nice, the Beaux Arts and the Nice Triathlon by Beausoleil

Whatever you choose to do, have a wonderful vacation.

Seconded, Crete is a lovely destination! Just one thing to add - Knossos is an absolute must-see, even if you're not normally so keen on historical/archaeological activities. It's the absolutely stunning, and still relatively intact ruins of the capital of the Bronze Age Minoan civilisation. I can't recommend it enough :) It's just outside of a small town called Heraklion - they have some more information on their website if you're interested: http://www.heraklion.gr/en/ourplace/knossos/knossos.html
