I quite liked Dubai when I went. It wasn't spectacular, but I wouldn't be opposed to seeing it again. My only annoyance was people were way too pushy trying to get you into their stores.

I hate the "buy this, buy this, come in!" sales tactic. I'm more likely to look around and buy if you give me a quick "hello, how are you?" when I enter and then let me look around without hovering at my shoulder.

You're not allowed to hold hands in Dubai?! Definitely not going there, then! It never sounded appealing to me anyway, an artificial city in the middle of the desert.
The place I'd definitely miss out on would be Wookey Hole, a complete rip-off near the city of Wells in England. Horribly expensive, no attractions and pure kitsch at every corner.

I wouldn't go back to Delhi. Although I loved other parts of India I found Delhi lacked places of interest and was an unappealing city.

I wouldn't go back to Nashville. I've no interest in country music and the traffic was terrible. Guayaquil was quite hot and humid and it just sapped my energy. And the port people wanted bribes which delayed our getting off. Panama City, Panama is another place I really see no reason to return to.

My daughter did not like Paris either, but I didn't have a problem with it, and I have not been to Munich since I was 12 so I have no opinion about that. I quite liked Madrid, because of the Prado.

I asked my husband last night if there was anyplace he would definitely not go back to, and he said he couldn't think of any. When I told him the places that I had 'nominated', he agreed with Guayaquil.

The topic of this thread is where you don't want to return to - not where you do want to return to. :)

That's interesting, I've never heard that about Calais. Well, it's a port city and they can be dreary affairs. I was JUST in Dover, so I'm glad I didn't ferry across.
