Hello - I am an American citizen (born in US), but just got my Polish citizenship, with the passport being processed as we speak (thank you Grandpa!). I am planning on travelling and living abroad for at least a year in 2018, which is why I got the other citizenship. I am looking to make France my home base, but I want to know if I am able to get a work permit as an EU citizen, even though I was not born, nor have lived in Poland.

Does anyone have any information about this?

Thanks!

Probably worth getting some kind of official check on this in wherever you end up working, but from basic knowledge: You don't even need a work "permit". As an EU citizen, you can work anywhere in the EU. You'll probably need to register for a tax number (or equivalent) in whatever country you end up working in, but that should be about it.

Do you speak French? If not, you might struggle finding decent work in France.

I would 2ble check but as long as you have a European passport, that should make you elegible to work in EU.
