If you're an admirer of fine art or you love arts and crafts, their are few museums surely breathtaking and mesmerizing for me. These are few museum names that is the choice of visitors.

1) Gold Museum in Bogota, Columbia:
This has the largest collection of per-Hispanic gold. It has over 33,000 items of gold and emeralds made in pre-Hispanic times.

2) Museum of New Zealand:
This is also called Te Papa Tongarewa, it means "the place of treasures of this land."
The Museum is located in Wellington. Te Papa is the national museum and permits visitors to explore the treasures and stories of New Zealand. They have collections of art, the natural environment and history.

3) Inhotim :
This is a giant art gallery in southeast Brazil.
The Inhotim was founded by a mining billionaire Bernardo Paz, the art museum was once his own personal farm which he converted into a contemporary art space, and was opened to the public in 2006.

4) The Musee du Louvre in Paris:
This is about 60,000-square-feet. It is a popular museum in the world but it was not originally built as a museum. It the structure that was actually a fortress. The Louvre didn’t become a museum until the year of 1793.

Have you been to any of these places or are you directly quoting from "google"?

I like museums and I think you should add the Prado to the list and also the Smithsonian, the Metropolitan Museum in NYC, the Hermitage, and the British Museum.

But I like the smaller museums and find them more interesting. Like the National Museum in St. George's, Grenada, the Barbados Museum, the Brevard County Museum, the Jeanerette Sugar Museum.

I've been to the Gold Museum in Bogota and it is as boring as shit...Unless you are really into gold, I guess. The Louvre is gorgeous......but MAN you really gotta be willing to stand in line or show up really really early.

Some of the museums I've enjoyed and would go to again are:

The British Museum (everything is considered stolen from somewhere, but DAY-um!)
The Royal Ontario Museum
The Prado
The Louvre(but I'd have to bring a chair.)
The Uffizi
The Smithsonian(because....c'mon. That's a pretty comprehensive group. They cover a lot)
The Tikal Museum (not the site, which is which is spectacular on it's own, but the museum....hidden at the airport in GUA for no reason, where all the intricate artifacts went)
The Hermitage

My fave David sculpture is in the Borghese in Rome...But I don't dig that gallery.

I am willing to agree with some who say that several of these are Art Galleries.

The Gold Museum in Lima is mostly stuff stolen from archeological sites and a lot of it is fake. Also not well curated. The Larco museum in Lima is much better.
