I'm mapping out some of my past travel routes and I have noticed that everytime I want to make a change to the points listed the map will automatically zoom out to world view, so I have to continually zoom back in so I can edit my points. Even if I click on a point instead of zooming into the point it zooms out to world view. I'm wondering is there a setting I need to switch off or on so I can disable the zoom out or is it something in the way I'm editing that could stop the constant zoom out?

I have the same problem. It's very frustrating.

I don't really bother with zooming the map - I just put in the locations of the places with the map zoomed out. The only time this does not work is if the location that I'm after is wrong in the database.

why? I haven't found the mapping part of the website (in the trip section) to be that helpful. I have trouble getting the lines to follow roads or be curved etc. So I've stopped trying to be precise down to the micron level and just use it as a general indication. Since you can't get from the map to the narrative about the place, I just use the map as a general indication of where in the world I was on the top of each narrative page. And when it is at the head of the blog, the map is zoomed out.

I don't think I'm doing it to a micron level but since most of my trips are driving if I tried to be general I would only have a few flight routes Plus I do find it interesting to see what a driving route looks like whole. When I plan a trip I do it in bits and pieces so I never get to see how the whole thing ties together. Also if I click on a point it is to see where it is but now I noticed it makes a little star shape so that at least fixes that problem

Yes but it only goes one way. If you are on the narrative of the trip, the trip map has a star on the place you are describing in the blog. But you can't go to the maps and get to the blog about that location from the map.

Always wondered about this also.

I guess since I don't have a blog I am not that concerned about it linking to anywhere. Though I suppose if I did get round to writing a blog I could see how that would be useful. I just want it to be easier to edit that map that's all.
