Hey all. It's my first year on TP and I am enjoying this site :)

Would like to wish everone all the best for the festive season and a very merry New Year. Stay safe.

So what are your plans? Anyone travelling somewhere exciting in 2018?

It would be nice to share our interests and make TP more of a friendly travel community in 2018. Looking forward to seeing our new home pages and a meetup section here so that we can all get to know eachother better.

Let's make TP in 2018 the best travel community on the web!!! :)

So who's in?....

Cheers
Ann.

Hi
Thanks for your wishes that I reciprocate : may you all and you beloved ones have a good health.

As for travel, well actually I'd like to travel less. I know it sounds weird but I spend about too many nights outside my home for business and usually some more with the family (this is cool though).

So this year, no big travel planned (we are just back from a fantastic trip in Argentina), I hope to just go to France (I live in Belgium, just next door) and maybe one or two city trips. My wife will go a few days to Israel in march, I'm going to US in jan, hope nothing else overseas and to avoid China this year.

2019 should see a trip to Australia, but if you ask me right now, I'd rather skip it, which is quite stange.

I do like GTG's in Paris - if anyone is interested I'm there about every week. Meeting people in the flesh is for me 100 times better than posting on forums.

Hi Ann, and Merry Christmas to you and yours!

My only fixed plan at present is the Virtual Tourist meet in Iceland in May but we have various ideas and I'm sure will be doing a couple of 'big' trips as well as some European city breaks or similar. We also plan to get out and about in the UK a bit more, as I'm moving towards semi-retirement and there should be time for some impromptu trips :)

Merry Christmas to all those who celebrate!

Hi Wo and nice to meet you. I'd love to have a job that takes me travelling! Lucky you :) Hubby and I enjoyed our short time in Belgium visiting Lier, Tongerin, Gent and Brugge with Brugge being our favourite. Love your beer too :)

Yes I agree that meeting people is so much better and that is why we need to promote TP more as a social travel network. Can't wait for the meetings thingy here.

Well we have a TP Australian Meetup Group here if you are interested in seeing what we have planned in the future. You may want to join to keep up with the future meetup plans.

Cheers,
Ann.

Merry Christmas, Ann and everyone else on TP - just woken up this Christmas morning in a hotel room in Nice, France. Flying to Geneva this afternoon and then on to Zurich, Vaduz, Innsbruck, Venice, San Marino, Florence, Rome, Athens and Istanbul before going back to work at the end of January.

Further plans for 2018 - Egypt, Isreal, Palestine and Jordan in April (if Trump hasn't missed that up) and then a World Cup semi-final in St Petersburg followed by the Baltic states ending with Belarus and the Ukraine in July. We've not thought much about the end of year yet but Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay are on the radar.😀😀😀

Hi Ann:)

I just read your Tasmania itinerary, really nice trip:). I've come back from Tasmania and your route is about half of what we did. Hopefully your weather will be better though We missed Bay of Fires and Freycinet due to torrential storms Oh well, just have to make another Tassie trip

In term of future travel, it is off to French Polynesia next year, got a cruise booked around the Marquesas and then using the flight pass to island hop the Societies. We're bookending the trip with a stay in Easter Island and the Cook Islands. So a fairly intensive trip

As for domestic travel, my mum is looking to travel again to Moree and Lightning Ridge for the mineral baths so I'm probably going to be escorting her up there. Might do a side trip to Mt Kaputar and another trip through Pilliga Forest, really great place for animal spotting. Like to visit their discovery centre this time as I've heard it is really good. Anyway it is a theoretical trip, so we will see what happens

As for travel, well actually I'd like to travel less. I know it sounds weird but I spend about too many nights outside my home for business and usually some more with the family

Don't worry I don't think it is weird;) It sounds like you've spend lots of time on the road so to speak so It no surprise you might be tired of it. Sometimes you need a break even from things you love

Hey Sarah, seems like my response to you disappeared.... or didn't post lol. Anyway hope you and your family had a wonderful Chrissy :)

Wow!.... Iceland for the big meet next year :) Cool.

Yes, hubby is moving towards retirement in a year. I plan to continue working because without the money I can't afford to travel :( ....so guess I'll be probably be working until 70 I guess. My work mates know that they'll have to remind me more and more as senility sets in haha.
