Well - where to stay?? Malaysia is pretty big compared to your country. First you must narrow down WHERE in Malaysia you need accommodation! Perhaps Kuala Lumpur and Penang for a start. Penang - Butterworth area is cheaper than KL. (Train from KL stops in Butterworth where you make your way to Penang.) Below link has accommodation and other helpful information.

Singapore is the most expensive city in this part of Asia. (By the way, KL is cheaper than Singapore.) Places to stay at show in below link. Also some things to visit, etc. Where to stay depends on your budget. Overall Malaysia is cheaper than Singapore.

You can find more cheap places to eat at in Malaysia than Singapore. (My opinion.) There are food courts you can look into also. (For Malaysia I can survive on nasi goreng.) Using Google searches can be helpful too.

Narrow down how much you want to spend on a room each night. Someone might have a recommendation. But look over the accommodation suggestions that show in above links.
(Using a regular laptop instead of only using a phone, might make your research easier to work with.)

Good luck.

In Malaysia I would definitely recommend a trip to Melaka, a beautiful historical town. I also enjoyed visiting Ipoh. If you want to relax and enjoy the beach for a while Langkawi is beautiful, too.
