Hi all, I am new here and just wanted to add my two cents. I believe that some places are definitely better than others. When I lived in Monterey, Carmel, and Santa Barbara, those places, all in California, were beautiful and never boring to me. Now I live in Arizona. Most of the state is beautiful but I live in the Phoenix area and I find it to be pretty dull here. However, it is kind of a challenge. Lately, in an attempt to be happier, I have begun searching out people places and things that are here locally that are interesting and enjoyable. Sure, it isn't always easy, but that is part of the fun.

Anyway, I guess that I just wanted to say that if where you live in boring, you should try to change that. Maybe start a club or join a theater group or volunteer at a soup kitchen or animal shelter. Life really is what you make of it. Your attitude affects how you see everything. A positive one makes your home town beautiful.

The person who said that they wouldn't want to go back to New York as a tourist are you crazy?!!
I have visited New York twice and thoroughly enjoyed and savoured every last second... although that may be because i'm still farely young at 22.
Once i graduate from University, i can't wait to explore the world and then eventually settle in New York (or nearby), it's such a world away from my hometown of Kendal, Cumbria. Although Kendal borders the Lake District and countless amounts of people have told me how lucky am to live there, it still bores the hell out of me.
