Northern Australia - Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, dozens of other places around Northern Queensland like Port Douglas, Hamilton Island, & Gold Coast just south of Brisbane.

I also recommend Northern Territory ( Australia), especially Kakadu - crocodiles Aboriginal rock art, thousands of birds on the waterways. Also consider the Kimberly District of north west , Western Australia , Broome, etc etc.

Yep another vote for Cairns and the Whitsundays.

I think maybe some countries in Middle East or North of Africa like Morocco, Egypt fit your requirements. Or even Vietnam is not bad at all, which have some dry provinces along the coast of South China Sea like Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan.

Where do you live, so what is long haul?

I live in southern Spain and expect hot dry weather in July and August every year (without the horrid humidity of Asia).

Nice beaches too, and good food.
