Ok, I've made some further fixes. Quite a few speed improvements, not all necessarily related to your problem. It's a noticeable speed difference. Hopefully it knocks the main issue on the head.

I've also added a larger thumbnail when you hover over the small thumbnail. It will only show for the photos that are successfully uploaded though. At least you can see more clearly which ones did work. Mind you, in an ideal world, none should be failing anyway!

Uploaded two sets of photos - one I picked one by one and let it upload one while I picked another one. They all uploaded. The second set I uploaded 55 all at once, and the all uploaded.

Great - sounds like it's working fine for you now :)

Having issues updating my profile pic? The upload worked but it didn't change, strange.

Hey slumberparty, you need to have the photo tagged as "me". The profile uploading link should go to the old uploader with that tag already set. You can go in to edit your photo and add the tag. Then it will show as a profile picture.

Slumberparty, If you only want one photo to ever show as your Profile Picture, only tag that one photo as "me" because if you have several tagged with "me," they will rotate as your profile pic. If you want them to rotate, tag as many as you like with "me."

Yesterday I had another instance of photos not uploading. It was probably because I dumped too many at once. But after that I have had no issues.

I am going to make some additional remarks

1) I find that it is better to add the photos to the new uploader a few at a time, and let them go on uploading as I enter them. This is rather than pushing control and picking them and adding all of them at once. Two reasons -
One with the Control button depressed, I can't expand the photos to see which ones are the ones I want to add. I can't expand them in the upload screen and I also can't expand them directly on my computer
Two - if I do all of them at once they come out all out of order - If I add a couple at a time they upload more or less in order and are easier for me to deal with

2) For better or worse, when I added a photo to VirtualTourist (and I had over 36,000 photos on that website), I marked them before I added them so that I knew that they had been used. This is helpful for me now. I can look at my photos and tell whether I ought to be able to find them here. However with 36,000 of them, it is sometimes a little difficult. I have mapped all the photos to the appropriate country, and in the case of the USA where I had over 10,000 photos, I tagged them with the state. So when I want to add photos for, for instance, Pompeii,

a) I bring up the 400 photos taken in Italy and arrange them by the location they are mapped to. (It would be easier if I could organize them by the date taken but that option isn't available on that screen).
b) Then I go through and pick out the ones taken in Pompeii and put them in the narrative text.
c) I look at the photos taken that day on my computer and see if I have all the marked ones.
d) Now, I use the new Photo uploader to upload additional photos, plus any of the marked ones that I didn't find.
e) I map the photos I just uploaded and caption them and then add them to the narrative
f) I delete the marked photos which I have newly uploaded to the database. This is quicker than trying to find them, especially if there are a lot of photos in a category.

The failure to upload was because I took a whole bunch of marked photos and added them to the uploader all at once (probably 30 of them)

I had one that didn't upload yesterday. I was in a hurry so just let it go. Had too many photos on that page anyway. That is the only one that didn't upload of all I've tried.

When I need the photos in some semblance of order (for my sanity), I upload only one to three at a time. It seems like it would be a good idea to add something to the program that would put them in numerical order. Life would be so much easier when trying to tag and map them. Just a thought . . .
