Travel Forums System Talk Not allowed to up date my own forum post

I added some hotel information to a post that I started, and when I tried to post it said that I was not allowed to update a post unless I was the person who originally posted it. And I am. It also said I only had an hour, but I posted the information 50 minutes ago. This is very irritating.

I think that must be a glitch - I regularly edit my forum posts if I spot that I've missed something or made a typo

I think it might be because I had two windows open

Hi I’m trying to edit a few of my forum post from a few weeks back, how do I go about this?

Cheers

This forum only allows you to edit posts for up to 1 hour after posting (that way you can correct a mistake immediately after posting, but generally not change what you posted after people have already responded to it).

Given the other thread you posted in, I can imagine you inadvertently posted some personally identifiable information you might want to edit out, or somesuch? If that's the case, I recommend contacting the admin of these forums - Peter - to request him to do so for you.

If I understand you correctly, then in order to send him a private message (using the big green button on his profile), you first need to confirm your email address or something like that? (He put in some new limitations to the private messaging system last month to stop a new influx of spam, but I don't know the details, so I'm guessing about this.) That's annoying, particularly if you're not receiving that email. (@Peter: when you see this, you probably should exclude PMs to yourself, and maybe all moderators, from that requirement.)

There's a contact form linked to from the footer of each page, which should also end up with him, though he'll probably be less swift with reading/replying to it. (My expectation is that it might take a few days.)

Finally, I'd expect him to see replies to this thread within a couple of days as well, though there's no guarantee there.
