Duplicate post removed. I think that's what triggered the automatic spam flag.

About traveling to Yerbogachen, I just put a point on the map as going into Russia, not necessarily that specific place, I still need to figure out where its possible to enter.

Quoting onetimearound

It comes across as easy to HH and travel long distances with truck drivers, even for days at a time.

Easy to HH

Across some areas the vast distances across harsh terrain that trucks have to cover means that they usually have/need a crew of 2 or 3 already, so they can be short on space themselves. You may have certain areas where you will need to wait for days for the next hitch (although that may be minutes if you're really lucky) and some will expect a fee of some sort.

Anyway, it's clearly something you want to do, so Good Luck.

I found this blog which is quite helpful and has some similarities to my route

That blog you have is a good resource, though I see some clear differences in their route and your proposed routes. Hitch-hiking in Eastern China is not so difficult as hitch-hiking is a way of life and they are far more use to seeing foreigners than in the west and the route they took through Russia is a classic trucker route. Clearly they did a bit of research. However if I were you I would not hitch Russia in winter like they did
