There are lots of third parties who'd love to make you pay unnecessarily for asking you to provide the same information which you'd otherwise provide directly for arranging a bank account and tax file number.

But yeah, super easy to do yourself. For the bank, just walk into any bank branch with your passport and AUD $50 for an initial deposit, tell them you're there on a WHV and want to set up a bank account, and you'll walk out 15 minutes later, with a debit card being sent to your hostel (or waiting for you at that bank branch) a few days later. (Be sure to tell them not to send you bank statements.) Several banks also allow you to set this up from abroad before arriving, but you'll still need to visit the bank branch on arrival to show them your passport and pick up that debit card.

A TFN can only be arranged after arrival, and is a simple manner of filling in the relevant form on the ATO website. (See here for details.)

That’s brilliant ok Thankyou!!
With the TFN it says will send to an address within 28 days but what if I’m not planning to be at the same address for a month?

Presumably when you're going to be working, you will be in the same location for that long (I'd expect it to be generally sent within a week or two as well - that was the case back when I did this at least - with the full 28 day period being more of a maximum upper bound for worst case scenarios). Otherwise, plan some travel loop where you'll return to the same hostel a couple of weeks later, and arrange with the front desk that they'll hold on to your mail despite you not staying there. Finally, there should be backpacker-oriented dedicated mail holding/forwarding services in the big cities.
