I'm a solo traveler I'll be in Bangkok on the 1st of April, I look forward to meeting any locals or travelers so we can hang out together.

You can have a nice time even if you don't meet up with anyone.

In Bangkok you might meet some people at your hotel. You may meet other tourists at pubs, beer bars, restaurants and by chance.

After you are in Bangkok you can sign on to some shared tours through one of the many travel agencies and some hotels with tour desks. On a shared tour you are grouped with other tourists for a long time. You may meet some new friends that way - or not!

Bangkok is a big city. (Quite a bit larger than Tunis for example.) You should narrow down what area of the city you want to stay. Perhaps choose an area for things you can walk to in your leisure time when not exploring or on tours. (Shopping, nightlife, river views, etc.) Ex. Siam, Sukhumvit - Nana, Pratunam, Riverside are a few.

Bangkok has 2 airports. Most long distance flights first land at Suvarnabhumi Airport. At that airport during the day up to midnight you have rail service to the city area. After midnight usually a meter taxi. (There are some hotels not to far from city rail service stations.) Some parts of the city there is no city rail service but city buses are cheap and meter taxis are numerous. (Taxis are cheap when you pay the meter fare and not try to bargain the cost. Taxis only take Thai baht.)

Read up on how best to change your currency to Thai baht. Most Western currencies get a better rate of exchange changing money in Thailand. Don't know about your money. TND?? If TND not on this list.

April 1 will be here pretty soon.

Good luck.

There are TravBuddy members who will be meeting up during the weekend of April 6-8. Let me know so I can point you in their direction (at least 4 who are going are Travellerspoint members as well).
