Sometimes when I have a map there is a star on the location I'm talking about in that section of the trip. In the latest one I'm doing, there's no star.

I also cannot add the date because it is too long ago I guess. Is that the reason for no star? (The trip was one taken in 1950 and I am having to make the posting date as 1970 as it gives me an error to say 1950)

Ah, you are taking your 1950 blog over here now? That's great, because that one is really really interesting. It reflects a time which is history to most of us.

Some date format representations in a database start counting in 1970, so that would explain why you can't choose 1950. That particular date format is a weird choice for this purpose, though, so I'd personally classify its use as a bug, and hope that Peter sees this thread and is willing to take the time to change the date format and make it possible to use 1950. (If that's actually doable will depend on where all this date is used, and if any other features depend on it.)

And yes, the blog and map integrate based on matching date ranges, so having those two not match, is quite likely to be the reason you don't see that star.

Thank you - although it is history to me too. I was a drifty 12 year old in 1950. Interestingly, my sister who was 10 and very nearsighted (and without glasses) does not remember anything about this trip.

You shouldn't set the Posting Time to 1950. That will indeed cause an error (an unexpected one to me, but not an entirely unsensible one considering it would be impossible to have posted a blog in 1950!).

You should use the "Describes Travel From" fields to set the dates for the trip instead. That should in turn connect it with your map.

I did also make some changes to the map recently, so maybe there's an issue related to that. Let me know if it still doesn't work after setting those dates.

If I put the same dates on the map and on Describes Travel From, the stars only appear on the first two sections which are in the USA

The star does not follow the narrative. It just stays in one place
