Hello fellow travelers!

This time my attention was pulled by Montenegro. Can you recommend me the best areas and places worth to visit? I am focused mostly on views and culture so big cities are unacceptable.

I am going with my girl at the beginning of April. 500 euros in the pocket and a huge smile on face!

Until you get some answers here, you can check the TP Travel Guide for Montenegro by clicking TravellersPoint Montenegro Travel Guide or typing Montenegro into the Search Window and choosing Guide from the drop-down menu.

Montenegro doesn't have big cities, even the capital is like a sleepy town but what they lack for size they do make up with crowds especially around the coast, but if you are looking for spectacular scenery you don't want to skip the coast.;)

You didn't say how you plan on getting around. Public transport is not that extensive and personally I think Montenegro is best done as a driving trip.

To sights, Kotor is obvious one and it is worth visiting, if you want to miss the crowds check the cruise ship timetable so your visit doesn't coincide with them in port. If you plan to climb the walls do so early in the morning, you not only to save on entry fee but the sun hasn't reached the cliff so it is a more comfortable climb.

If you have your own car you can do the road to Njegusi which is a stunning drive. If you go around lunch time Njegusi has taverns that serve delicious slow roast meats. Another great viewpoint is Lovcen though there is an entry fee into the park and then to go behind the tomb. For history and culture Stari Bar, Ostrog Monastery and Cetinje are top sights. If you have an interest in beaches Veliko Plaza is a top one. From there you can also do a scenic drive around Skardasko Lake. If you visit the mountains you have to explore around Zabljak and Pluzine, again amazing scenery. And obviously you have to visit Tara Canyon, if you like adrenalin activities there are plenty of providers around there.

Hopefully this is a good starting point and have fun planning your trip :)
