The State Capitol, the Schuyler Mansion on Catherine Street, Cherry Hill, the van Rensselaer mansion on South Pearl Street; the Shaker Heritage Society in the historic district of Albany on Meeting House Road; Albany Institute of History & Art at 125 Washington Avenue.

If you happen to get out as far as Watervliet (a suburb), check out Ted's Fish Fry. It looks like a dump but has the best fish fry I've ever had.

You might also check the Albany Tourist Office or Visitors and Convention Bureau with a Google search. My husband is from near Albany so we get there occasionally although not so much that last few years. It's really gorgeous in the area and lots to do if you have time and a car. There is Saratoga and the Van Buren Estate among other things.
