You should get notifications of new blog entries published by members with whom you are friends (a red number will appear next to the small globe, top right, to indicate the number of notifications you have). To be alerted to blog entries written by anyone else you will have to subscribe to the blog - there should be a link near the top of the right-hand column on any blog page.

The homepage has a section for featured blog (posts); look for "Recently featured blogs".

The "Community" menu in the main navigation has a section "Highlights", which embeds featured blog posts for various subjects in a uniform format, and you can click through to the original blog from them.

The search bar in the top right of the page allows you to search for any subject you can think of, in both Blog Entries, or the title/description of Blogs.

You can look at people's profiles (for example people who you see posting in the forums), where any blogs they write will be listed.

There's an overall index page of all blog entries by country or (commonly used) subject here, but it's not particularly useful, since there's simply so many blog entries for most places/subjects that it gets hard to find really "useful" ones. (Most people of course just blog for themselves and a small audience of friends/family, without the intent of being more widely read.)

That's about all the ways I can swiftly think of.

For a bit more on this subject (why finding blogs is not really emphasized on this site (spoiler: because of spam) :(), also see this thread.

In the other hand, spam blogs would be detected and reported quickly if there was a "newest blog entries" list on the front page. I would very much like to see what others are writing here, also people I do not know, not just those on my friends list.

But this is an old discussion...

I too would like a facility like this - it would encourage those serendipitous finds that can surprise you from time to time. Otherwise it can become a bit cliquey, with small groups of friends just reading each others' blogs all the time. I'm not knocking that - I enjoy reading what my friends write and I appreciate their feedback when they read mine. But many of my VT friends became my friends originally because I stumbled across their writing and it appealed to me, either content or style or both. That tends not to happen here.

Same here, on TB I loved to just brows the new entries, read some and then some more and maybe become friends through this
If this is an old discussion I do love to bring it up again

Just started a new thread somewhat related to this.

If you use a feed reader, you can actually subscribe to this feed which shows all new blog entries. Not as integrated as having a list here, but if you really want it, you can find it through that for now. And yes, I probably should make that something that can be seen on TP directly.
