Hello! I would prefer using canon800D because it's slightly speedier burst mode of 6fps, next to the D5600’s 5fps.

The reason why I am not going for the Sony Alpha AR 7 II is just the price. It is just so expensive that I sadly enough can't afford it ... it is either that or pass on traveling for a few years ... meaning cutting the budget and it is so confusing coz I really like that camera as well ... the choices we have to make Spicyricecake!

Thanks lilywilliams31 for the input ... I have to make a choice soon, now I know a little bit more! Just have to see them both in real time and make a decision!

Canon vs Nikon Always a battle :)
Both are good but I prefer Canon
It's all about what you want to do with it, for travel only I would go with something smaller and lighter than DSLR, but if you're determand compare both on the items / perfomance you find important

Hi Stefanie,

I am using it for travel but also on monthly basis when I meet up with other photography minded people so to speak. That's the reason why I still prefer a DSLR above a smaller one, needless to say, I still take a smaller one always with me, but somehow I rather grab my bigger one quicker than the other one! :)

Everyone is divided over those two brands as well as my friends, that's why I wanted to ask people who also use it often for their trips.

I still need to see them both, only saw the Canon for now, but I liked it since my usual brand Sony offers only big DSLR cameras of which my hands don't agree on or more expensive ones (read not my budget!! )

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated!

So you prefer a DSLR I can relate to that. when I'm looking for a new camera I browse the website of fotokonijnenberg.be (you might know that one they have a store in Turnhout), I bring my option to 2 or 3 max, print out the specs and just highlight the good points and cross out the bad ones if there are any, in addition I check comparison sites and review pages to make my final choise

Gee thanks everyone! I had no plans to buy a new camera as I'm very happy with my Panasonic DMC FZ200, although the weight compared to my husband's more compact camera bugs me occasionally. I read this thread just out of curiosity, but after reading all the comments about the advantages of a compact when photographing people etc. I ended up checking out online reviews and ordering a TZ70 (reviews suggested that although older this gives better results than the TZ80 when in full zoom mode, which I use a lot). I'll let you know how I get on with it but if I'm disappointed I'm blaming you lot for inspiring my impulse buy ;) ;) ;)

You'll be happy with your TZ70. Please protect it when it's raining or when it's dusty by wiping the lens barrel before retracting it. Dust is problemmatic. I speak from experience. I always carry a microfiber wipe with me.

Stefanie, I do the same with Konijnenberg ... it is just behind my work, but believe it or not, I still didn't found the time to visit coz it is always closed when I got of from work, but I will get there ... no matter what!
