Had you thought about the Sony α5100? APSC sensor!

or
sony a6000 apsc sensor
or
Sony a6300 apsc sensor
or
Sony a6500 apsc sensor

all models are compact but give you dslr quality and adjustment.

Also with models /prices to suit any pocket new or second hand.

Just a thought from a fellow photographer/traveller

THat's the fun of it. Advice:

Start with your budget
Then
Do you already have Sony lenses?
Yes
Look at the A5000 plus similar models as you will be able to get an adaptor(this will save you money on new lenses)
No
Then look at the Canon SL2 kit it will be more than enough to start you off with and you will get a APSC dslr in one of the most offered lens range going

Have fun!

I suggest Nikon D5600 is a very nice choice price level is also lower than that of Canon 800D. for the entry-level shooters that give you some of the unexpected specs to suit all your requirements during shooting and its

I've reported him. If you go to his profile you'll find 'Capitol' is the name of a hotel!
