Cheers for the feedback guys was wondering aswell how much you would take yourself for two and half weeks? :)

Our average was around $AU100/night accom but that was 4 star (about 25% of what I'd pay for similar in Australia) and that included buffet breakfast. Meals - lunch around 100,000 VND each and dinner say 200,000 VND each. We could have eater a lot cheaper if we'd enjoyed more street food. Some of the tours were a bit expensive - Saigon was $US 80 for a full day to tourist war tunnels and Mekong River, but then again $US 20 each for a full day small bus tour to the Bac Ha Sunday market in the north of the country (went from Sapa).

Wouldn't that depend on what you want to do while you're there?
If you're staying in high end resorts/hotels then it'll be expensive.
If you go to the ChuChi tunnels and want a go on their firing range then you can spend a lot of money quite quickly.
Diving isn't expensive compared to many countries, but its still not cheap.
It's a cheap place to just wander round, see the sights.
Accommodation and food prices will have changed since I was last there (10 years ago) but they can be cheap.

You should prepare an amount of cash to bring along. The ATM is available every where in the city central, but quite rare in the rural area.

Hi Rosie

Welcome to the forum.

Just a heads up that both the posts you've replied to are 1 year old, since anyone came back to them, so the original poster probably isn't still looking.
